Approach

Our Ministry Models

Throughout YFC's history, there has been an unwavering commitment to youth evangelism and biblical Christianity.  Since the 1940's, YFC continues to develop effective relational ministry models focused on different types of un-churched youth.  YFC is the only Christian-based organization in Louisville that seeks to reach students in all aspects of their lives on the Campus, in the Community, and with the Church.

On the Campus

If a specific site is primarily focused on impacting students on middle school and high school campuses, we begin a ministry site with a Campus Life, a holistic school-based model, or Core, training students to impact their closed school campus using a missionary approach. Deaf Teen Quest is a Campus Life based model that focuses on deaf and hard of hearing students.

In the Community

If the site is primarily focused on impacting students within a specific geographic community, we begin with a City Life model.  City Life is a holistic ministry that is community-based.

As Campus Life and City Life sites grow and impact students, Site Champions become aware of students with special life circumstances or from unique sub-groups.  That is where Youth for Christ's specialty ministries are able to combine forces at these sites and best engage students.  These include Juvenile Justice for students dealing with the court system, Unified Underground for fridge students, Parent Life for teen parents, and Glocal Ministries for students living in Louisville with an international background.

With the Church

Youth for Christ loves partnering with churches throughout Louisville in ministering at each of the site ministry models listed above.  In addition, many of our church and community Partners also utilize our YFC Mentoring to mentor their students and others through the community.  We also partner specifically with churches through Project Serve and World Link projects.
